The School of Finance (SoF-HSG) sees itself as a pillar of the basic concept of the University of St.Gallen and, as an independent partner of the other schools, helps to promote the goals, activities and culture of the University of St.Gallen in the pursuit of realising the vision and mission of the HSG.
The SoF-HSG is guided by the core competencies of the University of St.Gallen and is part of the special relationship of the HSG with the practice of banking and finance in education, research and transfer.
The School of Finance (SoF-HSG) strives to cover the most important areas of finance with at least one chair. The chairs complement one another, bringing their own specialised knowledge in to address the research question of 'System Wide Risk'.
These institutes empower the SoF-HSG through economic independence and self-determined cooperation.
